Wow, it has truly been a while since I have roamed these pages..
Not a whole lot in my life has changed.. little events that were significant to me but not really appropriate for discussion here.

What I can say is that come September I will be in third year Fine Art Painting in NCAD... which is considerably exciting to me. Second year was amazing... made especially so by new friends including a beautiful 6ft northern lass by the name of Meabh... with whom I will be residing with for upcoming college term, if all goes to plan.
New tutors... some amazing, some completely lacking in any sort of reactionary capabilities... there's only so much inspiration you can take from a sort of disinterested, dumb stare... but you'll have that, painters are an unusual bunch of people.
My work from the year just ended... well I don't know how I feel about it. Certainly different from my usual but I think that is for the best. Everything that I have made this year definitely has a more conceptual basis, something i have found is drilled in to all potential post-modern artists.
mmm... yeah...
I must be doing something right, sold a painting at the end of year exhibition, which was nice.

I reckon I will be put some of my new stuff up... to be honest I had basically given up on this site. We got broadband in my house for the first time ever a few weeks ago though, which makes it all so tempting... there's only so much bebo a girl can take *blank stare*

Summer has been pretty un-productive. Apart from camping in Clare and a visit to Belfast I haven't done much at all. Can't find a job. Can no longer drive because of the stupid learner's permit law thing. I have started a few new paintings this week, we'll see where they go!

any hoos..

ncad is the place to be. err.. yeah?!

its been a while.

i am now in N.C.A.D.. (yay!!) and it is amazing! took me a while to settle in but i'm getting there now.. its weird doing art full time, trying to be creative full time, you know? i still don't feel like this is my actual life, its all a bit surreal.. but meh.. i wouldnt change anything at the moment.. even all the shit stuff.. its all a learning experience, eh?

i love paint. and print. and 3d.. and media.. ooooo... what to do?!?!

oh, yeah.. i went to NEw York city a few weeks ago.. college field trip.. it was amazing.. loads of brilliant galleries..i made a few discoveries.. did a bit of shopping.. ice skating in central park, in the rain.. beautiful.

i adore living away from home. i hate when i forget why i wanted to leave so much, go home and then the reasons are blatantly thrown in my face again. ugh. there are some things you can escape from and others that are unavoidable. damn them.

i do miss my friends though.. and the certain few people that i always randomly bump into in Galway.. doesn't happen in Dublin. you'd have to go searching for them.. alas..

oo, and anyone who hasn't yet, come up to visit me! :)

electric picnic anybody?

Tue Aug 29, 2006, 1:48 PM
I arrived home this afternoon to nicer weather than that which i left in Paris this morning but it is not enough to content me.. i miss the feeling of knowing i have to get up early so that i can fit in as much as possible in the short space of the day.. i miss not understanding any of the signposts, getting the "damn tourists" look off locals and most of all i miss the late, drunken\stoned, sometimes naked nights spent bumming in hostels with em,dick and jon.. :(
alas..
so overall... my trip was amazing.. the best time i have had in my life ever.. i feel ever so much more "worldly"..fuck ye if that sounds gay.. i have more ideas in my head than i've had in a long, long time.. which is a really comfortable feeling.!
..
..
my only trouble now is that im wrecked.. i need to sleep for two or three weeks! but... i have two maybe three electric picnic tickets that i now don't want! anybody interested?? send me a note! but do it soon cos its this weekend and il have to get them to ye!
..
..
and wooo.... im off to ncad soon..!! :D

ok, so its been a while since i've written, im currently sitting in a net cafe in Prague on day 13 of our interrailing adventure.. so far we've been to Rome, Venice, Vienna and Budapest!
I saw saw my first real life Leonardo di Vinci in the Vatican in Rome, which was amazing!
In Venice we went to see the Peggy Guggenheim collection which is a collection of cubist, abstract and surrealist art.. some of the works were amazing! a lot of Picasso, a Francis Bacon (..aww..) and lots of Ernst..!
and the in Vienna we went to the coolest Psychedelic art exhibit.. its was crazy.. there was a great documentary on Andy Warhol's the Plastic Exploding Inevitable, which was a series of films displayed at the same time to the music if the Velvet underground! really cool stuff! im going to look into it further!
cant wait for Paris.. of to Amsterdam first though..heh..i hear the brownies are good? :P
at last i am feeling inspired, i was on a total block there for a while with all the leaving cert shit.. results out on Wednesday.. ugh.. scary stuff!
